Dr Rachel Corris is a Consultant Anaesthetist with a public hospital appointment at Peninsula Health and appointments at Cabrini Health, Epworth Health and Holmesglen Private Hospital. Rachel graduated from medicine at Monash University with Honours in 2006 and completed post-graduate anaesthesia training through Monash Health with rotations to the Royal Women’s Hospital, Royal Children’s Hospital and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Melbourne.

From 2014 to 2016, Rachel undertook further specialist training in the United Kingdom at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, primarily attached to the Scottish Liver Transplant Unit. In addition to managing high risk liver, renal and pancreatic transplant patients, the unit provides care for patients having hepatobiliary, major upper GI, endocrine and bariatric surgery. Rachel spent additional fellowship time attached to the busy vascular and obstetric units at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.

Rachel enjoys mentoring junior anaesthesia and nursing colleagues and is heavily involved with teaching, particularly through simulation. She is a qualified Emergency Management of Anaesthesia Crisis (EMAC) instructor at the Epworth hospital and is completing her Masters in Clinical Education.

Rachel strongly believes in working in partnership with patients to formulate a personalized anaesthesia plan.
